Kiss Me, Kate

A Classic Broadway Musical Comedy

August 7 to September 1, 2024

Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter
Book by Sam and Bella Spewack

Sophisticated, romantic, and delightfully hilarious, Kiss Me, Kate is a sparkling battle of the sexes that is a love letter to both Shakespeare and showbiz.

Cole Porter’s joyful and high-spirited musical comedy follows the ferocious backstage antics of a touring company performing The Taming of the Shrew, featuring a flamboyant feuding couple, gun-toting gangsters, and some of the best numbers ever written for the stage: “Another Op’nin’, Another Show,” “Too Darn Hot,” “Wunderbar,” “So in Love,” and “Brush Up Your Shakespeare.”

Broad, brazen, and shamelessly irresistible, Kiss Me, Kate was the first musical to win a Tony Award® for Best Musical. Discover its timeless charm in this song-and-dance extravaganza heralded as a defining musical of the 20th century.

Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Running Time: 2 hours and 25 minutes, including a 20 minute intermission.

Incredible show. The cast was amazing. Was blown away by the talent (singing, dancing, humour). Highly recommend this show to anyone. Can't think of anything that could have been improved upon. Exceptionally well done !!!
Bruce F., Mount Brydges
This is a great show. The singing and dancing were excellent. What surprised my wife and I was the excellent acting of the 2 lead characters. The other performers were very good as well. The humour was very tasteful as well. Overall it presented a late 1940s play in a new fresh way. This show could easily be in Toronto or frankly on Broadway.
Bernard G., Thornhill
What could go wrong with a musical that includes parts of a Shakespearean play, a bit of opera, some terrific tap-dancing, lovers who care, and ex-lovers who are ready to blow up? Absolutely nothing. This musical has it all! We enjoyed every minute of the acting, costumes, stage sets, humour, and music. Kudos to the live band!
J J, Hamilton.

HUGE Well Done! The set, costumes, orchestra, and actors were all amazing. The power, and range of the voices-Wow! The variety and talent of dance moves, steps and types were again amazing. The flow and chemistry of this musical from the start to the grand finale were a treat to watch and experience. A standing ovation for everyone was well deserved.
