Following the success of Legally Blonde and Footloose comes Mean Girls - High School Version, a fearless musical comedy about chasing popularity and being true to yourself – starring over 50 students on stage and backstage in the annual Drayton Entertainment Youth Academy High School Musical Production.
Cady Heron is the new girl at North Shore High, desperate to fit in and find friends. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on the ruthless leader of The Plastics, Regina George. When Cady and her friends devise a "Revenge Party" to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a Queen Bee without getting stung.
With its wicked sense of humour courtesy of Tina Fey (30 Rock, Saturday Night Live), catchy Tony®-nominated music, and energetic production numbers, Mean Girls is funny, fierce, and “fetch” (yes, we are making “fetch” happen!)

The story of Mean Girls champions concepts of judgment-free identity, empathy, inclusivity, the importance of belonging and hope. As is the case with most meaningful theatre, the road to this better understanding of others’ perspectives is paved with conflict. Mean Girls High School Version is based on the PG-13 film and presents a very honest depiction of modern high school culture including references to partying, bullying, some mature language and homophobia that may not be appropriate for all audiences. The High School Version has some language content revisions but follows the plot of the film faithfully. Our hope is that these conflicts lead to worthwhile discussions focused on the musical’s inspirational themes and encourage us to apply the idea we all are unique, valuable and worthy of belonging.
