There’s no such thing as a secret in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia – especially when four female best friends meet for coffee every day at the local diner to share gossip, romance, bawdy tales, and the true meaning of life.

When Sean, a heartbroken doctor from Toronto, takes a temporary job at the clinic and becomes interested in local waitress Janine, the Maritime town that’s best known for being the halfway point between the Equator and North Pole is tipped off its axis. What follows is a month of lessons learned for all, through hilarity, tears, and the unshakeable bonds of friendship.

Norm Foster, Canada’s favourite playwright, has another hit on his hands with his raucously funny comedy about the messiness of love.

Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Reviews

A perfect stage for a great cast of 5 to share their hilarious and sometimes sad lives in a small town anywhere! Promise you warm and fuzzy and lots of laughs!

Our first ever visit to Drayton. We were delighted to find the play was well written, the actors were excellent and the theatre was intimate and comfortable. This will be the first of many more visits in the future.

A really funny little comedy show. Norm Foster is a master of comedic dialogue and small town settings. This production was perfectly cast. Great performances by all. As very well as a very well done set. Kudos to all involved. I highly recommend going.

The set and lighting was terrific. The actors were talented and well selected. We laughed, and toward the end we cried a bit. The play was a good representation of every day life. Written and performed in a way that we can all recognize, relate to and be empathetic to. Love the play, the performance and the feel good afterglow.
Brenda S, Sauble Beach
Excellent performance! Loved the actors. They were remarkable - not a dull moment. Loved hearing the laughter throughout the theatre. This is a must see for everyone. Thank you Drayton Festival Theatre. Looking forward to attending many more performances.

Not only did we have a laugh per minute, but this was a very emotional story, evoking tears in some patron's eyes.
Kenneth P, Burlington
I'm from the Maritimes, and the play reflects a daily small-town gossip session. Friendships among the women who live in these smaller communities often start from early childhood. These friendships are solid. The actors in this performance were outstanding, displaying a great sense of humour, caring and wit. Well done.
