The Drawer Boy

The Drawer BoyAn Inspiring Dramedy

By MICHAEL HEALEY
Directed by ADAM FURFARO

The deserved recipient of both the Governor General's Award and Chalmers Award, The Drawer Boy is one of the most widely lauded plays in contemporary theatre.

Miles, a young Toronto actor, is in search of some hands-on experience for a play he's writing about farm life in rural Ontario. With great reluctance, Angus and Morgan, two middle-aged farmers, agree to let the city slicker stay with them.

What begins as an amusing portrayal of rural and urban culture-clash, slowly peels away layers to expose hidden secrets when Miles unwillingly stumbles upon a shocking truth about their past. Thus begins a journey of self-discovery filled with humour and tenderness that explores the true meaning of friendship.

Richly textured and deeply compelling, The Drawer Boy celebrates both Canadian theatre and the triumph of the human spirit.
